Veteran actor and Trinamool Congress candidate Shatrughan Sinha is on the verge of securing a significant victory in the Asansol seat in West Bengal during the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Shatrughan is leading against senior BJP leader SS Ahluwalia, a development that has garnered widespread attention.

As the election results started favouring Shatrughan Sinha, his son Kush expressed gratitude to the voters for their support. Speaking to ANI, Kush Sinha thanked the people of Asansol for their trust in his father, stating, “I am very happy that he (Shatrughan Sinha) is winning. Last time also, he won by a huge margin, and history is repeating itself. I would just like to thank the people of Asansol for choosing someone who would be with them and work for them.”
Kush Sinha also took the opportunity to criticise the BJP, accusing them of spreading false information. “A lot of people tried to spread lies against him and the TMC. Until yesterday, the exit polls predicted that another party would win in West Bengal and Shatrughan Sinha would lose in Asansol, but today’s results have proven that those claims were completely false and baseless,” he remarked.

According to data from the Election Commission of India, as of 4 PM, Shatrughan Sinha was leading SS Ahluwalia by an impressive margin of over 60,000 votes. This lead reflects the strong support Sinha has managed to cultivate in the Asansol constituency.
