Prince Harry ‘would have been upset’ after missing Duke of Westminster’s wedding – MASHAHER

Prince Harry “would have been upset” about missing the Duke of Westminster’s wedding, royal commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex is said to have pulled out of attending the wedding of Hugh Grosvenor after acknowledging the difficulties his presence may have sparked.

A source told People that there was an “understanding between the two friends”.

Speaking on GB News, Heydel-Mankoo said: “I don’t know what Harry thinks but you could easily see why he would be upset to not have been there.

“He is very close to the Duke of Westminster, they’ve known each other for years and grew up together.

“When you’re a prince of the realm, you have a very close circle of friends because you can’t trust many people.

“Most of his close circle of friends or former friends were at this wedding. He must have been thinking that his circle in America is even smaller.

“He perhaps will be reminiscing about happier days of past.”

But despite Harry possibly feeling upset about his absence, Heydel-Mankoo added that it was probably the best course of action.

“Prince William was attending as an usher and it was decided that it would be best if Harry stayed away”, he told Dawn Neesom.

“It would have completely overshadowed what was essentially the biggest society wedding of the decade.

“It was as close to a royal wedding as anon-royal wedding could be. Hundreds of well-wishers were waving union flags with a very strong police presence.

“Only William was there from the Royal Family, but in happier times you would have had a much bigger royal presence.”

Just Stop Oil protesters attempted to mar the occasion by letting off orange powder as William left Chester Cathedral.

They were met with boos by onlookers while being quickly removed by police.

William, a close friend of Hugh Grosvenor, went through a side entrance, out of the view of many of the crowds, when he arrived on Friday morning.

He stood towards the back of the wedding party as they left the cathedral.
