Karnataka: Gangster Jayesh Pujari shouts Pakistan zindabad slogans in district court, beaten up – MASHAHER

A jailed gangster, Jayesh Pujari alias Shakeel, was thrashed in a district court in Karnataka’s Belagavi on Wednesday after he allegedly raised “Pakistan Zindabad” (hail Pakistan) slogans.

The incident took place at a time when Pujari was scheduled for a hearing in connection with a 2018 case. While he was being produced before the district court, he allegedly shouted “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans inside the premises, an official said.

Police personnel on-site quickly secured him and took him to the police station.

“He is a habitual offender with multiple cases against him, including double murder and threats to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Police are investigating further to understand why he raised pro-Pakistan slogans,” a police official said.

A case registered against Pujari with respect to today’s incident under sections 295 A (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and section 505 (2) (Statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will between classes) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The accused will be sent to judicial custody in Central Prison in Hindalga where he is lodged, police said.

Pujari was produced before the district court in connection with a case in which he allegedly threatened one of the former Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Alok Kumar six years ago.
