Kindergarten teacher to be charged for allegedly injuring 4-year-old boy – MASHAHER

KLANG: A 25-year-old kindergarten teacher who allegedly hit and injured a four-year-old boy for defecating in his pants is expected to be charged with assault at the Magistrate’s Court here on Friday (June 14).

South Klang police chief ACP Cha Hoong Fong said on Thursday (June 13) that investigations into the case that occurred a month ago at a kindergarten in Pandamaran here have been concluded.

On Wednesday (June 12), the Attorney-General Chambers received orders to charge the woman under Section 323 of the Penal Code.

On May 13, the victim, who was in his classroom at the kindergarten, was allegedly assaulted by his female teacher after he defecated in his pants and defied her orders to clean up at a toilet.

Cha said the boy’s 33-year-old father, who later spotted the injuries on his son’s cheeks and back, lodged a police report on the same day.

He said police commenced investigations under the Child Act, and doctors who examined the victim found soft tissue injury on the boy’s cheeks.

Cha also rebutted claims made by a lawyer representing the victim’s family, who alleged police had delayed investigations and evidence-gathering in the case.

“In a police investigation, time is needed to complete all statements (of witnesses), and evidence that is gathered needs to be analysed. If a case involves a minor, the child will be required to have his or her statement recorded at the child interview centre (CIC) after an appointment. Then, the investigation papers will need to be submitted to the AGC. This clearly shows that an investigator needs time to wrap up the investigation papers.” he said
