PETALING JAYA: Back-up bowler Wan Zarif Ikram (pic) brought smiles back to the national camp when he won a gold medal in the boys’ Masters to end a seven-year drought in the Asian Junior Championships at Sunway Mega Lanes here yesterday.
The 17-year-old, who was making his second appearance in the Under-18 tournament, defeated Hong Kong’s Jovi Ma 427-385 (over two games) in the top-three stepladder finals.
