Following the success of the movie Soorarai Pottru starring Suriya, producer Sudha Kongara is currently planning a Hindi adaptation dubbed ‘Sarfira’ with Akshay Kumar. Sudha stated in a recent interview the difficulties she had during her first week of working with Akshay. She wanted him to replicate Suriya’s performance, which made him uneasy.

However, Akshay eventually explained his method to her, resulting in a greater understanding.
Sudha told Galatta Plus that she has known Suriya for over 25 years, so it’s much simpler to tell him what she wants. It’s really pleasant and relaxed. But for Akshay, it’s ‘sir’ first and foremost, and she was meeting him for the first time. Because she lacked filters, it was practically identical. For the first six days, he was unhappy. He was like, ‘What is this girl making me do all this rubbish?’ So, he and the producer spoke with Sudha, and she stated, ‘You do anything you want, and I will let you know when things aren’t going well. Sudha had to let go as well since she had imagined the perfect Maara and believed that Suriya was the only one who could portray her. She quickly saw that she was smothering this performer, who had his own approach, and she had to let go.
Sudha discussed how she and Akshay discovered similar ground. After six days of filming, she gave him a clip of a particular scene. The next day, Akshay contacted her and stated that, while he had his own way and process for performing, this was his first attempt to grasp her vision. He was striving to match her expectations. Sudha said that she like it. They made up after that and had a great time filming together.
Soorarai Pottru is based on the life of GR Gopinath, the founder of India’s low-cost airline, Deccan. The film earned positive reviews and was chosen as one of ten Indian films for the Best Foreign Film category at the 78th Golden Globe Awards.
