Carlos Alcaraz was seemingly itching to end his press commitments as early as possible after his quarter-final win at Wimbledon 2024. The defending champion was keen on catching up on Spain’s Euro 2024 semi-final against France, which was being played in Munich when Alcaraz was taking out Tommy Paul in their last-eight match on Court No. 1 at the All England Club in London.
Thankfully, Carlos Alcaraz made it out of the press box just in time to see Spain dominating France in their Euro 2024 quarter-finals. Alcaraz, who has been rooting for La Roja at Wimbledon, was thrilled to bits when he saw Spain’s victory in the much-anticipated semi-final against Didier Deschamps’s men.
Alcaraz, in a video shared by Wimbledon, was seen celebrating Spain’s dominance over France as he joined in the staff, who were glued to their television sets with football live on them.
While 21-year-old Carlos Alcaraz kept his dreams of defending the Wimbledon crown alive after a come-from-behind win over 12th seed Tommy Paul in three hours and 11 minutes, Spain got the job done over France in the Euro semi-final in regulation time.
16-year-old Laminie Yamal was the star of the show for Spain as he inspired a sensational come-from-behind win for Spain, who reached the final of the prestigious continental tournament for the fifth time.
France, led by Real Madrid’s new signing Kylian Mbappe, took the early lead in the first-half with a header from Randal Kolo Muani. However, Spain bounced back at Munich, much to the shock of the Les Blues fans, with twin strikes in just 5 minutes.
16-year-old Lamine Yamal came up with a wonderstrike to cancel out Kolo Muani’s goal before Dani Olmo put them in the lead. Spain’s defensive discipline then shone through as they held France and secured a 2-1 win.
Yamal was the man of the moment for Spain as he became the youngest-ever goal-scorer in Euro history. The Barcelona teenager showcased his composure as he controlled the ball outside the box and curled a stunning left-footed effort from 25 metres in off the post.
Yamal broke Pele’s record for the youngest goal-scorer in the Euro or the World Cup.
Notably, Spain proved their title credentials yet again, having become the first team to win six matches in a Euro campaign.
