Shloka Mehta, wife of Akash Ambani, turned heads at the recent haldi ceremony for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. Her vibrant custom Anamika Khanna lehenga stole the show, blending rich tradition with a touch of personal flair. Moving away from the expected monotones often seen in haldi ceremonies, Shloka opted for a custom-designed lehenga with a symphony of colours.

The vibrant green base of the skirt served as a background for a kaleidoscope of embroidery. Delicately crafted Resham work in contrasting hues of red, beige, yellow, pink, silver, and gold danced across the fabric, creating a mesmerizing interplay of light and texture. The intricate thread and sequin work added a touch of shimmer, while floral motifs wove a thread of femininity throughout the design.
The lehenga’s silhouette was an elegant A-line, offering a flattering flow with a dramatic flair at the bottom. Interestingly, a red printed dupatta with gota patti borders and delicate threadwork, was draped in a Gujarati-style saree pallu.
The beige blouse, heavily embroidered to complement the skirt, offered a perfect counterpoint to the vibrant green. The intricate work on the blouse mirrored the motifs on the skirt, creating a cohesive style. However, the backless design with tassel and bead adornments added a touch of unexpected modernity, showcasing Shloka’s fashion-forward sensibilities. The square neckline framed her face beautifully, further enhancing her overall elegance.
Shloka’s jewellery selection perfectly complemented her outfit. Bangles, haath phool, and a statement necklace adorned with pearls added a touch of regalness. The pearl-embellished maang tika and statement earrings accentuated her facial features. However, it was Shloka’s decision to keep her makeup subtle that truly allowed her attire to shine. A nude base with a pop of colour through a red bindi ensured all eyes were drawn to the stunning lehenga.
Shloka’s hairstyle was in a center-parted braid adorned with a gajra. This classic hairstyle beautifully complemented the ethnic attire. Her makeup was a tasteful blend of soft glam and traditional elements. Pink lips, kohl-lined eyes with a touch of mauve eyeshadow, mascara-laden lashes, and highlighted cheekbones with feathered brows created a naturally beautiful look.
For those unfamiliar with Shloka Mehta, she is the daughter of businessman Russell Mehta and his wife, Mona Mehta. Married to Akash Ambani since March 9, 2019, the couple welcomed their daughter, Veda Akash Ambani, in May 2023.
The wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant will take place on July 12, followed by two additional events: Shubh Aashirwad on July 13 and Mangal Utsav on July 14, marking the grand wedding reception in Mumbai.
