A man died Monday after a fatal vehicle crash on the Taconic State Parkway in Yorktown.

Trooper Aaron Hicks said New York State Police responded to the scene of a vehicle crash on the Taconic State Parkway on Monday around 7:20 p.m. near Granite Knolls Park in Yorktown.

A 33-year-old Manhattan man died Monday evening after his car rolled over on the Taconic State Parkway near Granite Knolls Park in Yorktown.

Hicks said an investigation found that Ramon A. Feliu Disla, 33, of New York City was driving southbound on the parkway in a 2015 BMW M5 at a high speed when he struck a guide rail and rolled over. Feliu Disla was ejected from the vehicle and, despite attempts at life-saving measures from witnesses, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Feliu Disla is believed to have been in a speed contest with an unknown motorcycle several miles north of the crash.

New York State Police said this crash is still under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call State Police at 914-769-2600.
