PETALING JAYA: Top men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik will have to wait a little longer to know their draw for the Paris Olympic Games following French pair Ronan Labar-Lucas Corvee’s success in disputing a decision by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).
Recently, Labar-Corvee had reported that the world body had miscalculated their qualifying rankings for the Paris Games from July 26-Aug 11.
A miscalculation by the world body had earlier demoted the pair to be ranked below the Popov brothers in the qualifying rankings.
CAS then ordered BWF to ask IOC to add Lobar-Corvee as the 17th pair to the Games. And for the first time, France will now have two men pairs in the Olympic Games.
On Friday, the world body said following the CAS decision, the men’s doubles draw which was supposed to be conducted on Friday (July 12) had been postponed.
The draws for the men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s singles and women’s doubles however, were carried out as planned.
