Manitowoc man arrested after tip from Bikers Against Predators sentenced to probation. – MASHAHER

MANITOWOC – Heath M. Grebe, a Manitowoc man whose arrest for attempted child sexual assault was recorded during a Facebook Live by Bikers Against Predators in September, has been sentenced to five years of probation.

Grebe, 36, was sentenced July 3 by Manitowoc County Circuit Court Judge Mark Rohrer. He was convicted of attempted second-degree sexual assault of a child and use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, both Class C felonies.

In addition to serving five years on probation, Grebe was ordered to undergo a psychosexual evaluation, comply with all requirements of the Sex Offender Registry, have no contact with anyone younger than 18 and have no access to internet-enabled devices.

Grebe was arrested Sept. 25 at Lincoln Park. The criminal complaint said Grebe thought he was meeting a 13-year-old girl for sex, but instead was confronted by members of Bikers Against Predators, a nationwide nonprofit group.

The members recorded their interaction with Grebe in a Facebook Live video. The nearly 40-minute video has received 109,000 views and labels the incident as “Catch #245.”

The Bikers Against Predators website states its mission is “to expose online predators to help spread awareness and education to as many citizens as possible while having these predators face justice for their crimes.”

According to the complaint, members of Bikers Against Predators provided officers with copies of text messages dating from Aug. 10 to Sept. 25 that showed the interactions between Grebe and the person he believed was a 13-year-old girl. The messages were sexual in nature and also included links to graphic sexual content.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Angelina R. Scarpelli. Attempts to contact Grebe’s listed attorney, Michael C. Turner, for comment prior to publication were not successful.
