FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A hospital in Fresno has been named a Best Regional Hospital 2024-2025 by a U.S. News & World Report, ranking first in Fresno and 49th in California.
Saint Agnes Medical Center in Fresno was also named by U.S. News & World Report as its 2024-2025 Best Hospital as a High Performing hospital for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease colon cancer surgery, heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure, leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, pneumonia, and stroke, according to officials.
The report’s authors evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions, with just 11% of them earning the Best Hospitals ranking.
Saint Agnes was also 1 out of 98 hospitals to receive the inaugural award for Best Regional Hospital for Equitable Access 2024-2025 by the report.
Officials say to calculate the Best Hospitals rankings, U.S. News evaluated each hospital’s performance on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and leveler of nursing care, using data from records provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
