The chaos broke out in Harehills, about 1 mile northeast of the Leeds city center. In one clip, heavy police presence could be seen but officers appeared to be outnumbered by a large crowd of protesters. Another clip showed people throwing various objects at a police car, including what appeared to be a scooter.
Reuters was able to independently verify the location with the road layout, business signs and outline of the buildings matched the street view imagery of the area. Reuters was able to independently verify the date with the original file metadata.
