Celebrity wedding photographer and founder of Wedding Filmer Vishal Punjabi recently opened up about working with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. In a recent interview, Vishal said that SRK is ‘one of the best editors’ and that he edits every film he works on.
“He (Shah Rukh Khan) was a lot smaller than I thought he would be. You imagine him to be bigger, but he was a little smaller, though very enigmatic and charming. When I first saw him, I was like, ‘Is that it?’ because you expect him to be bigger”, Vishal told DJ Simz.
Aspiring to work with Shah Rukh Khan, Vishal wrote a letter to the actor. Following that, the ‘Jawan’ actor offered Vishal the opportunity to design a website for a Bollywood portal. This led to Vishal joining Shah Rukh’s production company, Red Chillies Entertainment.
During the same interview, Vishal highlighted the time when he worked with SRK. He said, “He was a really good mentor to have. He guided me very well and taught me everything about cinema. I worked for him for 10 years before I started my own company.”
He continued, “Shah Rukh is one of the best editors I have worked with. He edits every single film he shoots and acts in. He sits with the editor and goes through every scene. It’s insane the amount of work he does.”
Meanwhile, work-wise, Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Atlee’s 2023 blockbuster ‘Jawan’, co-starring Deepika Padukone, Priyamani and others. He will be next seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘King’. The upcoming film will also feature his daughter, Suhana Khan, in an important role.
Recently, Amitabh Bachchan confirmed his son, Abhishek Bachchan’s role in the film. Sharing a post on X, he extended wishes to him. ‘King’ is expected to begin filming later this year and might hit screens in 2025.
