The Savannah area is under a flash flood warning until 8 p.m. after late afternoon thuderstorms dumped heavy rain.
Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen, with 1 to 2 inches more possible, the National Weather Service warned at 6 p.m.
“A couple of structures within the City of Savannah have flooded or may begin to flood soon,” NWS said. “Numerous roadways are impassible with floodwater or stalled vehicles.”
