BROOK PARK, Ohio (WJW) – A local community is planning a sobriety checkpoint this week.
Brook Park police announced Wednesday that the department would be holding an OVI checkpoint on Thursday, August 1.

The location of the checkpoint will be announced Thursday morning.
According to Brook Park police, there have been 225 alcohol-related crashes in Cuyahoga County in 2024.

Among those crashes, the department says 18 people were killed.
OVI checkpoints are funded by federal grant money.
