Young Wests Tigers playmaker Latu Fainu is set for a week on the sideline after suffering a head knock in his side’s loss to the Cowboys on Thursday.
Fainu suffered knock midway through the first half after copping a hip to the head from Cowboys centre Valentine Holmes.
Not long after, Fainu was taken from the field amid confirmation that it had been deemed a category one concussion. That means the 19-year-old will be stood down for 11 days under the NRL’s protocols.

Meanwhile, Alex Twal also left the field with a finger injury in the second half.
In the same game, Cowboys veteran Jake Granville suffered a pectoral injury in a crushing blow for the 35-year-old.
Granville suffered the injury during the first half but managed to push through until half time.
Coach Todd Payten conceded post-game that “things aren’t looking great” for the workhorse hooker, who comes off contract at the end of the season.
“A strained pec at least so he’ll be missing for a while,” Payten said.
“He’ll go for a scan and fingers crossed we get some good news because he’s a tough kid.
“He finished the half and not so long ago he did the same with a torn a biceps and managed to finish that game. He’s as tough as we got.”
