PRATTVILLE − Police in Prattville are investigating a Sunday night shooting near downtown where 56 spent shell casings were recovered.
No one was injured, Police Chief Mark Thompson said. Two houses and one vehicle on Cosby Court were struck by gunfire, he said.
Cosby Court is off Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The shooting happened about 11 p.m. on Cosby Court, Thompson said.
Investigators recovered cases of various pistol calibers, he said.

“If anyone knows anything, they need to contact us with the information,” he said.
Residents in that area of town were discussing the shooting on social media Monday morning, including District 2 Councilman Marcus Jackson, who represents the area.
“I pray that everyone is safe after receiving several phone calls last night around 11 o’clock, from citizens, who were awakened by gunfire in the Cosby Court and Bent Tree area,” Jackson wrote. “Multiple homes were hit by random bullets as these families were resting. As I told them last night, I have full trust in Chief Thompson and his staff to find the perpetrators!”
