The mother of a teen boy who has been missing since Monday has issued a desperate plea for his return, telling media she is “non-stop crying” and “praying” for his safe return.
Krishank “Krish” Karthik, 16, disappeared on Monday morning, Victoria Police said, and the police and Krish’s family hold concerns for his welfare.
In an emotional plea to 7News, Krish’s mother Shobana Karthik said she had been “non-stop crying” for the past two days.
“All I’m praying is that you are back, Krish,” she said.
Shobana told The Herald Sun her family was in a “terrible” state with the boy missing.
“The school was surprised … I spoke to the principal and he said he was an A+ student and there was no study pressure,” she said.
On social media, Shobana pleaded with her boy to “come back home”.
“Krish come back home baba,” she wrote.
“We want you to be safe pls come back my baby you know we can’t live without you, you are our life line.
“You know this house will come to stop still without you.”
Victoria Police said the teenager was last seen at a property on Freemont Court in Truganina, a suburb in Melbourne’s outer west, about 7.30am on Monday.
“Police and family have concerns for Krishank’s welfare as his behaviour is out of character,” the police said on Wednesday afternoon.
“He is Indian in appearance, approximately 170cm tall with a medium build and black hair.
“He was last seen wearing his T-shirt red with logo Suzanne Corrie black track pants sports uniform, with black shoes and over t-shift grey hoodie.
“It is believed Krishank was last seen at Melbourne Central about 10.50am on 5 August and is believed to have taken a tram to North Melbourne.”
Krish is a Year 11 student at Suzanne Cory High School.
