Utah HC Officially Breaks Ground On Sandy Practice Facility – MASHAHER

It’s been a constant summer of firsts for the Utah Hockey Club.

You can now add the groundbreaking of a future practice facility at the Shops At South Towne in Sandy to the list.

The club officially turned the shovels on its new home Monday morning, surrounded by members of the Sandy City Council, led by Sandy mayor Monica Zoltanski, and owners Ryan and Ashley Smith.

Also in attendance were players Lawson Crouse, Michael Carcone, and Nick Bjugstad, who also donned the hard hats.

Others who attended the groundbreaking included Smith Entertainment Group executive Jim Olson, the leader of the project, Utah HC president Chris Armstrong, general manager Bill Armstrong, and head coach Andre Tourigny.

The groundbreaking took place with a few hundred other media friends, too:

As previously announced, the Shops will remain open for the duration of construction, which will be completed sometime before the 2025-26 season.

The project also joins the Delta Center renovations, which are already underway, and upgrades to the Kearns Olympic Oval, which will be the practice facility for the club’s inaugural season.
