U.S. dollar ticks up | The Star – MASHAHER


NEW YORK, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Wednesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.54 percent to 101.094 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro decreased to 1.1116 U.S. dollars from 1.1185 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was down to 1.3187 dollars from 1.3259 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 144.66 Japanese yen, higher than 144.02 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar advanced to 0.8422 Swiss francs from 0.8414 Swiss francs, and it was up to 1.3475 Canadian dollars from 1.3448 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar climbed to 10.1998 Swedish Kronor from 10.1367 Swedish Kronor.
