KUALA SELANGOR: Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah inaugurated Masjid At-Tuqo in Kampung Sungai Sireh, Tanjong Karang here on Thursday (March 21).
Sultan Sharafuddin arrived at the mosque at 6.30pm, accompanied by the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and was welcomed by Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and State Secretary Datuk Haris Kasim.
Also present were state Islamic affairs and cultural innovation committee chairman Dr Mohammad Fahmi Ngah, Selangor Islamic Religious Council chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof, and Selangor Islamic Religious Department director Datuk Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad.
Sultan Sharafuddin also broke fast with the people in the district and presented Hari Raya contributions to 466 recipients comprising the needy, poor, and converts from the Kuala Selangor district, totaling RM233,000.
He also delivered the inauguration speech for the mosque before signing the inauguration plaque to conclude the ceremony.
Built in 1950, the mosque has undergone periodic renovations and can now accommodate up to 800 people at a time, serving the congregants of Kampung Ampangan and Kampung Haji Razali.
Sultan Sharafuddin also performed the Maghrib, Isyak, and Tarawih prayers with the people. – Bernama
