After officially kicking off last week, the NFL season will amp up on Thursday night as the Kansas City Chiefs (and tight end-turned-actor Travis Kelce) take on the Baltimore Ravens. The kickoff game will begin at 8:20 p.m. ET at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium. Good news for Swifties: popstar girlfriend Taylor Swift is also confirmed to be in attendance.
The game will air on NBC and Peacock, but cable-cutters can also tune into the game live online through any live TV streamer with access to NBC, such as Sling TV, Fubo TV and Hulu + Live TV.
It should be a good game given the charged defense on both sides (both the Chiefs and Ravens scored as the top two scoring defenses last season). The game also marks a rematch of last season’s AFC championship game won by the Chiefs in Baltimore.
Not only do the Chiefs hope to defeat the Ravens at their home stadium on Thursday night, but they also are looking to beat their own record. The two-time defending Super Bowl champs have the opportunity to be the first team to win three straight Super Bowls in a row. With quarterback Patrick Mahomes, they have a good chance but this season does present new challenges, such as an aging Travis Kelce, who turns 35 in October, wide receiver Rashee Rice potentially facing criminal charges and wideout Marquise Brown suffering from a shoulder injury.
Meanwhile, the Ravens’ Lamar Jackson heads into this season as one the NFL’s most exciting stars. The quarterback led the Ravens to the AFC championships last season but lost to the Chiefs, meaning he’ll be seeking revenge on Mahomes on the field Thursday night.
