The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office recently reported a mother punched an intruder after he broke into her home in Grovetown.
Just before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, a 34-year-old Grovetown mother reported she woke up to a knock on her back door, according to an incident report from the sheriff’s office.
When she went to the door and unlocked it, a man entered her home and immediately punched her in the face, according to the report.
The mother told deputies she returned the punch and “grabbed him by the throat” while pushing him out through the back door, according to the report. The mother and her child then hid under a sofa and called police.
Deputies noted there was a large spot of blood on the floor near the front door, according to the report.
