Two teenage boys are facing a string of charges after allegedly leading police on a wild chase through Perth’s north, in a stolen car, which ended when they parked up at a local police station.
It is alleged that the two teens, aged 14 and 17, broke into a home in Balcatta sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning, and stole two sets of car keys, which they used to steal a green Suzuki station wagon and a red Peugeot hatchback, police said.
On Sunday night, Rapid Apprehension Squad officers spotted the allegedly stolen Suzuki station wagon driving on Gnangara Road in Lexia.
They followed the Suzuki with their lights and sirens on in an attempt to stop the driver.
Police said the Suzuki continued recklessly through Joondalup, Mirrabooka and Midland before the pursuit came to an end when the car was driven into the car park of the Mirrabooka Police Station.
The 14-year-old driver and his 17-year-old passenger were arrested by police.
The 14-year-old from Balga has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle, driving recklessly, failing to comply with a direction to stop and having no authority to drive and will face the Perth Children’s Court on Monday.
The other teenager, from Koondoola, has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle and possession of cannabis. He will face the Perth Children’s Court on April 22.
