College football scores, games, updates: Tennessee at Oklahoma and more – MASHAHER

Week 4 of the college football season features the start of conference play for many teams and it shouldn’t disappoint based off the slate of games.

Clemson got things started off with a thorough domination of conference rival NC State, going off for 45 points in the first half for an easy win that shows it’s right there in the mix with Miami at the top of the ACC.

The early games also featured some history making. James Madison scored more points in the first half against North Carolina than it ever had before in a wild 70-50 upset (UNC had also never allowed that many points in a half before Saturday). Later, Temple kicker Maddux Trujillo drilled a 64-yard field goal — the longest kick in 16 years and just one yard shy of Martin Gramatica’s record.

In the evening window, No. 18 Michigan toppled No. 11 USC in a way only the Wolverines could, essentially winning solely with their ground game. In another ranked-on-ranked matchup, No. 12 Utah held off No. 14 Oklahoma State for a Big 12 win despite Utes QB Cameron Rising sitting out another game.

Here are the winners and losers for college football’s Week 4.

Follow along below for the rest of the day’s action.

Live129 updates

  • End of 3Q: Tennessee 22, Oklahoma 3

Not much in the way of offense in the third quarter in Norman. The Sooners offense is just anemic. They have 98 total yards with one quarter to go.

  • Back from halftime in Boulder, Colorado stuffs Baylor on 4th and 1 at the Colorado 41.

Big stop for the Buffs, who still trail 24-17.

  • Tennessee tacks on FG

The Vols have added another field goal, with Max Gilbert connecting on a 41-yarder. The Sooners are going to have to find some semblance of an offense to keep this thing close

  • Another Miami TD!

Damien Martinez punches in another one from the 1.

Miami is in total control now, up 36-15 on South Florida near the end of the 3rd quarter.

  • We are back for the second half of Tennessee-Oklahoma and the Vols had a huge chunk play called back on a hold. They’ll have to punt it away.

  • Touchdown Miami!

Hurricanes begin the 2nd half with a long, 12-play, 80-yard drive capped by Damien Martinez’s 1-yard TD run.

Miami extends the lead over USF to 29-15

  • Halftime: Baylor 24, Colorado 17

  • Touchdown Colorado!

Shedeur Sanders scrambles and finds Omarion Miller down field, then Miller somehow stayed on his feet and ran to the end zone for a 58-yard TD. What a play.

Colorado cuts Baylor’s lead to 24-17. Late 2nd quarter.

  • Halftime: Tennessee 19, Oklahoma 3

It’s not quite a blowout, but the Sooners’ lack of offense is concerning in this one as the Vols are just badgering the home team up front.

  • Touchdown Tennessee!

UT’s Dylan Sampson caps off an 8-play, 46-yard drive with a goal line touchdown. The Vols are in control of this one in Josh Heupel’s return to Norman.

  • Baylor turns 4th down into touchdown

Baylor QB Sawyer Robertson takes it himself on a 4th and 2. Baylor leads Colorado by 2 TDs.

  • UT, OU trade turnovers

One play after Oklahoma forced a fumble on a strip sack of UT’s Nico Iamaleava, OU’s Jackson Arnold throws a backwards pass that’s dropped and the Vols fall on it.

Tennessee has the ball in OU territory with just over 4 minutes left in the half.

  • Kick return TD for Baylor!

After Colorado had tied the game with a FG, Jamaal Bell returns the ensuing kickoff 100 yards to immediately give Baylor the lead.

  • Sooners offense still stuck

Oklahoma will have to manufacture some offense to keep up with Tennessee, but Brent Venables’ team hasn’t figured it out yet. They’re down 12-3 and have 97 total yards so far.

  • Weirdest TD of the day?

Oregon State gets a pick-6 off a Purdue player’s foot! Really!

  • Bears strike back with TD

While that was all going on, Baylor took the lead on Colorado with this great pass and catch.

  • Safety Tennessee!

Sooners RB Taylor Tatum can’t get out of the end zone on a run and the Vols put two points on the board.

  • Arch Manning, Texas rolling

Arch Manning has settled in very well in his first career college start

  • Oklahoma fumbles it right back

Oh my goodness. Just one play after Oklahoma recovers a fumble and appears ready to score, the Sooners fumble it right back to the Vols. Tennessee gets the ball back deep in its own territory.

  • Fumble recovered by Oklahoma!

What a huge turn of events in Norman. UT QB Nico Iamaleava gets hit in the backfield and drops the ball and the Sooners fall on it. They’ll have the ball inside UT’s 5-yard line.
