A possible tornado swept through southwest Florida early Thursday, September 26, local forecasters reported, amid multiple storm and hurricane warnings in the region ahead of Hurricane Helene.
Surveillance footage owned by Jennifer Wein shows stormy conditions outside her home in Cape Coral before debris is sent flying in the early hours of Thursday.
Later Thursday morning, the National Hurricane Center warned that Helene was strengthening and expected to make landfall as a “major hurricane” in Florida’s Big Bend region by Thursday evening.
