College football scores, games, updates: Georgia at Alabama, Illinois at Penn State and more – MASHAHER

The biggest game of the season (so far) is upon us.

No. 2 Georgia visits No. 4 Alabama in the first top-five matchup of the season on Saturday night. It’s the last of four ranked matchups during a loaded Week 5 slate.

The biggest result of the day, however, may have happened early on Saturday. Kentucky went into Oxford against No. 6 Ole Miss and stunned the Rebels, 20-17, in a back-and-forth affair that ended with a shanked field goal that would’ve tied it.

Here are the biggest games left. Follow along as we break down all the action below.

Time: 7:30 p.m. | TV: NBC | Line: Penn State -18 | Total: 47.5

The Illini knocked off previously undefeated Nebraska in overtime in Week 4 and it’s just the third time since 1951 that Illinois has won its first four games. A big reason for that is the improved play of former Ole Miss QB Luke Altmyer. Can he keep that up against Penn State on the road? Opposing QBs are averaging just 144 yards per game against the Nittany Lions.

Time: 7:30 p.m. | TV: ABC | Line: Georgia -1.5 | Total: 48.5

This matchup of perennial playoff teams features two Heisman contenders at quarterback. No QB is responsible for more TDs per game than Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, and Carson Beck spent much of the offseason as the favorite for the award. Beck’s 2024 season hasn’t lived up to the Heisman hype yet, but it won’t be a surprise in the slightest if Beck has a big game.

Time: 10 p.m. | TV: FS1 | Line: Boise State -7.5 | Total: 64.5

Washington State is on the precipice of the AP Top 25 after a 4-0 start that includes wins over Texas Tech and Washington and QB John Mateer is slinging it. But the Cougars defense is allowing almost five yards a carry — that’s an appetizing statistic for Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty, who leads the country with an average of 10.5 yards a carry. There’s a reason he’s the non-QB with the best Heisman odds (+2000) at BetMGM.

The Buffs left no doubt in this one, blasting the Knights on the road in impressive fashion.

  • Arch Manning and No. 1 Texas roll

With Quinn Ewers missing another game with an injury, Arch Manning throws for 324 yards and two TDs as Texas comfortably beats Mississippi State its first SEC game.

  • Colorado returns fumble for TD

UCF’s KJ Jefferson fumbles the ball near the goal line and Colorado’s Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig scoops it up and returns it 93 yards for a touchdown.

That’ll cap things off in Orlando.

  • Colorado stops UCF at goal line

Any hope of a Knights comeback was just dashed on a tough goal line stand by the Buffs.

  • Final: USC 38, Wisconsin 21

Wisconsin was up 21-10 in the third quarter before USC just absolutely blasted the Badgers, scoring the final 28 points to run away with the Big Ten win.

  • Final: Oklahoma 27, Auburn 21

Auburn couldn’t get much going on a last-gasp drive, and No. 21 Oklahoma rallies from 11 down in the 4th quarter. True freshman Michael Hawkins wins in his first start for OU, and Auburn falls to 2-3.

  • Final: Notre Dame 31, Louisville 24

Louisville had the ball at midfield with a shot to tie it and under a minute to go, but an inexcusable delay of game penalty on 4th and 1 made it a lot tougher. Incomplete on 4th and 6.

No. 16 Irish hang on for a big win over No. 15 Louisville.

  • Oklahoma takes over on downs

OU sacked Auburn on 4th and 11, and that will just about wrap it up.

Oklahoma is gonna complete the comeback win.

  • End of 3Q: Colorado 41, UCF 21

The Knights aren’t helping themselves much on offense or defense. After allowing a long drive for a score, they just turned it over again on a fumble.

  • Touchdown USC

The Trojans just put the game on ice with a pick-6 by Mason Cobb. That’ll do it for the Badgers.

  • Touchdown Colorado

The Buffs charge right down the field and offer their own rebuttal, capping off a 6-play, 65-yard drive with a 10-yard TD pass from Shedeur Sanders to LaJohntay Wester.

    Colorado up 41-21.

  • Touchdown Louisville

Meanwhile, Louisville cuts Notre Dame’s lead to 7 points after Tyler Shough throws a 24-yard TD pass to Ja’Corey Brooks.

5:17 to play in South Bend.

  • Oklahoma takes lead on a PICK-6!

What a turn of events in Auburn! Oklahoma’s Kip Lewis intercepts Tiger QB Payton Thorne and returns it to the end zone to suddenly give the Sooners the lead!

After a successful 2-point play, OU leads Auburn 24-21 with 4:01 to play.

  • UCF gets one back

The Knights have responded right back with their own touchdown drive, going 92 yards in three plays to cut it to 34-21.

  • Touchdown Oklahoma!

Jovantae Barnes finishes it with a 2-yard TD run, which was set up by Michael Hawkins’ 60-yard pass to J.J. Hester. OU failed on the 2-point try, but it’s down to a one-score Auburn lead.

Auburn leads 21-16 with 8:32 to play.

  • Interception Colorado!

Who else but Travis Hunter?!? The two-way star makes an incredible leaping pick and it’s hard to see a way back for UCF despite the game only being midway through the third quarter.

  • Touchdown Notre Dame!

Riley Leonard’s short pass to Jeremiyah Love goes for a 32-yard score. It’s the first points of the 2nd half for the Irish, and that could come close to putting this one away.

31-17 Notre Dame lead. 9:16 to play.
