New York Sirens defender Maja Nylen Persson has played her last game this season with Brynas in the SDHL. The blueliner played the first five games of the season in Brynas, but did not appear in either of Brynas’ contests this week.
Through her five games with Brynas, Nylen Persson recorded five assists.
Nylen Persson was the 10th overall pick in the 2024 PWHL Draft by the Sirens following her third consecutive season being named the SDHL’s Defender of the Year.
The 23-year-old Team Sweden stalwart joined Brynas on loan to open the year and prepare for her first PWHL season. Now, with only a month remaining before PWHL camps open, Nylen Persson is leaving to focus on the next step in her career.
Prior to the PWHL season, Nylen Persson and many other national team members will have one final international break, with Sweden set to host the next stop on the Women’s Euro Hockey Tour in November at the same time as Canada and USA begin their 2024-2025 Rivalry Series.
