MORENA: A 34-year-old pregnant woman has been allegedly raped and set on fire, leaving her with 80% burns. The incident took place in Chand Ka Pura village, near Ambah town of Morena district in Madhya Pradesh. The victim is currently receiving treatment in a hospital in Gwalior.
According to inspector Alok Parihar of Ambah police station, the victim had gone to the village to negotiate a compromise with a woman who had accused her husband of rape.However, instead of resolving the dispute, the victim was reportedly raped by three men who were present in the accused woman’s house.
Later, the trio and the accused woman poured fuel on the victim and set her ablaze. A video capturing the victim being rushed to the hospital in a vehicle has been shared with the police. In the video, the victim can be heard stating that she was first gang-raped and then set on fire by the accused woman and the three men.
The victim’s husband, who was out on bail in the rape case, has handed over the video to the police. While the victim has provided a statement to the magistrate, the police are yet to record her statement. The investigation is currently underway.
