Niagara region declares state of emergency ahead of eclipse – MASHAHER

STORY: Canada’s Niagara region has

declared a state of emergency

ahead of a rare total solar eclipse on April 8

The phenomenon is expected to draw

massive crowds to the region’s popular waterfall

The city’s mayor estimates up

to a million visitors will be there

compared to the 14 million it sees in a year

(Jim Diodati, Niagara Falls mayor)

“To get one million at one time, would be by far the biggest crowd that we’ve ever had.”

The region will be closing some facilities
