A fire is burning dangerously close to homes in the Perth suburb of Gwelup in the City of Stirling and is out-of-control and uncontained.
A bushfire Watch and Act warning is current for people in an area bounded by North Beach Road, Balcatta Road, Sandover Drive, Pascoe Street, Wanstead Street, Clement Drive and Summerhayes Drive in parts of Carine, Gwelup and Karrinyup.
The fire is very close to homes.
There is a possible threat to lives and homes as conditions are changing.
It was first reported at 5.30pm, near the end of Porter Street where it intersects with Wanstead Street. So far no homes have been lost.
Fire-fighters and water bombers are fighting the fire as residents evacuate while the temperature in Perth was still an extreme 39C at 6.10pm.
Fire-fighters will remain at the location overnight. The cause is still unknown and authorities would like anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers.

- Keep doors and windows closed and turn off evaporative air conditioners, but keep water running through the system if possible.
- If you are not at home, do not try to return as conditions in the area could be very dangerous.
The fire has burned bushland on the Karrinyup Golf Course near the third green, across to the 15th tee.
It started at the end of a day of extreme weather conditions in WA. The temperature in Carnarvon hit a whopping 49.9C, which according to WeatherZone is the highest temperature recorded in the world so far this year.
