Tiffany Haddish, Billy Gardell, Nikki Glaser and Andy Kindler are set to perform at the third annual Friendly House Comedy Fundraiser, which supports women in substance abuse recovery. Tammy Jo Dearen of Comedy Central will host the event, to be held on April 7 at The Bourbon Room on Hollywood Boulevard.
“When women recover, the world recovers. For 73 years, Friendly House has been on the frontlines saving women’s lives with a 12-step based program structured to help each woman reclaim her dignity and acquire the knowledge, skills, support, and resources needed to maintain purposeful and productive life,” Friendly House’s mission statement reads. “The organization has been a leader and a champion for the empowerment and recovery of women of all gender experiences and racial and ethnic backgrounds, especially those from historically excluded communities. The non-profit program provides culturally responsive evidence based, attainable treatment to women with or without resources.”
All proceeds from the comedy fundraiser go toward Friendly House Los Angeles. In addition to the performances, guests can purchase tickets for a meet and greet with Haddish as well as a raffle, with the grand prize including an exclusive three-hour game night hosted by Haddish at the Friendly House Sober Living.
The fundraiser is produced by Tammy Jo Dearen and TJD Presents. Tickets to the event can be found here.
In addition to her philanthropic work, Haddish is set to appear in “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” the fourth installment to the buddy cop franchise led by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The film is slated for release on June 7.
