Actors Pedro Pascal, Chris Evans and Dakota Johnson are in talks to star in the sophomore directorial of filmmaker Celine Song, who debuted with last year’s Past Lives. Titled Materialists, the upcoming film hails from A24, Killer Films and 2 AM.
According to reports, Celine Song has revealed the upcoming film is a follow-up to Past Lives. Billed as a romantic- comedy set in New York, Materialists revolves around a high-end matchmaker who gets involved with a wealthy man. Further details about the plot and the actors’ roles are yet to be disclosed.
The production of the film is believed to commence in May. A24 will handle the global release of the film.
It is to be noted that Song’s directorial debut, Past Lives, has garnered a lot of attention since its release last year. The film was nominated for five Golden Globe awards and three BAFTA nominations. Moreover, it is also contending for the upcoming 96th Oscars in the categories of Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.
