Gold Coast utility Jack Lukosius is reportedly being viewed as a “gettable” asset this year, as questions hover over his fit in Damien Hardwick’s Suns side.
The Suns drafted the now-23-year-old South Australian with the second overall pick in the 2018 national draft.
Playing a fresh defensive role under Hardwick, Lukosius played his 100th AFL game in last Saturday’s victory over Hawthorn.

However, doubt is beginning to grow regarding the Henley product’s Carrara future, per SEN reporter Sam Edmund on Tuesday.
Speaking on SEN Breakfast, Edmund explained the “watch” on Lukosius from other clubs this year, despite his current Gold Coast contract running through to the end of 2026.
“Just a watch on Jack Lukosius,” Edmund said on Tuesday.
“(He’s) moved from defence to the forward line, (has had) stints on a wing, and earlier this season (made) a return to the backline under a new coach with a new philosophy.
“A handful of clubs I spoke to over the last few days didn’t hesitate in saying he was gettable, and that there might be an opportunity if the planets align.
“But look, (there’s) a long way to go (in the season), and what you know is Damien Hardwick’s not going to die wondering.”
Edmund added his belief that Lukosius isn’t pleased with being shunted back into defence.
“I’m not sure Jack’s happy about returning to the backline, either,” he said.
“He saw himself as a forward alongside Ben King and alongside Jed Walter, but Ethan Read’s come in as well and Damien Hardwick sees him as a defender.”
Lukosius recorded 21 disposals at 52 per cent efficiency with five inside-50s against the Hawks on Saturday.
He is averaging 16.0 disposals per game this year, which is up from his 15.1 career average.
