A homicide investigation is underway after an elderly man died and a woman was found with serious head injuries at a home north of Brisbane.
A 26-year-old man has been taken into police custody.
Police were called to conduct a welfare check at a home in Bramston Court in Burpengary East, near Moreton Bay about 9.20am on Thursday.
When they arrived, they found the man and woman both aged in their 70s with serious head injuries.
The man was declared dead at the scene and the woman was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Police have taken a 26-year-old Boondall man into custody.
A crime scene has been declared and the investigation is ongoing.
Police do not believe there is any threat to the public.
