Dale will play a role in the northern carnival with Penthouse, which has placed twice at stakes level and is likely to look towards black-type sprints in Brisbane next month, and Front Page, which could head north for the Doomben 10,000.
Front Page was disappointing as favourite in the Hall Mark Stakes, where he didn’t handle the very heavy ground, but he has come through the run well.
He could head to the Wagga Town Plate or Victory Stakes next week or wait a week for the Takeover Target Stakes at Gosford before group 1 options in Brisbane.
“If I didn’t know how hard that run was on a bottomless track last Saturday, I would look at him and think he had won,” Dale said. “He has plenty of options and we just have make sure we pick the right one for him.

“With him, conditions of races are important, so we make a decision whether 62kg in the Town Plate or a trip to Brisbane is the way to go. We could wait for the Takeover Target Stakes at Gosford the following week.
“I would like to give him his chance at group 1 in Brisbane before a spell.”
