Harvey Weinstein has been taken to hospital days after being moved to a New York jail.
The 72-year-old’s health woe comes days after a court ordered a new trial over his 2020 conviction for rape.
Despite the court’s decision, Weinstein remains in jail because he was convicted in 2022 of another rape in Los Angeles.
His lawyer announced his hospital stint on Saturday evening soon after Weinstein was moved to the jail. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan.
Lawyer Arthur Aidala said: “They examined him and sent him to Bellevue.
“It seems like he needs a lot of help, physically. He’s got a lot of problems. He’s getting all kinds of tests.

“He’s somewhat of a train wreck health-wise,” Weinstein’s lawyer added,
According to the Mirror, a spokesperson with the New York City Department of Correction, Frank Dwyer, would only confirm that Weinstein remains in custody at Bellevue.
Meanwhile, Thomas Mailey, a spokesperson for the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, said Weinstein was turned over to the city’s Department of Correction pursuant to the appeals ruling.
Weinstein’s lawyer claimed to have spoken to Weinstein on Friday while he was in transit to New York following Thursday’s appeals ruling.
Aidala has claimed Weinstein’s health woes are solely physical, describing the disgraced film exec as “sharp as a tack” mentally, according to the Daily Mail.
“(His) feet are firmly planted on the ground,” Aidala added.
The lawyer also claimed Weinstein “was not treated well” following the ruling, claiming officials “refused to give him even a sip of water, no food, no bathroom break” ahead of his NYC jail move.
Aidala added: “He’s a 72-year-old sickly man.”

Weinstein has been serving a sentence of 23 years in a New York jail for the two sex attacks against an aspiring actress and a production assistant.
The shock ruling came following a 4-3 decision in which it was deemed the judge made an error that allowed women to testify about alleged sexual assaults against the 72-year-old who weren’t part of the charges against him.
The state’s highest court found the judge at the trial prejudiced Weinstein with “egregious” improper rulings.
