PETALING JAYA: Tan Cheng Hoe has become the first Malaysian to coach a club in a Thai League football match.
The 55-year-old, who was appointed Police Tero coach on Feb 29, was on the sideline when his side held Nakhon Pathom 1-1 at the Boonyachinda Stadium in Bangkok on Saturday (March 2).
Police Tero’s goal was scored by striker Juvhel Tsoumou in the 73rd minute, while Nakhom’s goal was scored by midfielder Nattanan Biesamrit in the 32nd minute.
Despite the draw, Police Tero fared well and had almost 60% possession and 19 shots at goal during the match.
The draw sees Police Tero remain 14th in the league with 20 points.
