Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the news that a part of the Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) song, ‘Say Shava Shava’, has been recreated for Mr & Mrs Mahi. The recreated version, ‘Dekhha Tenu’, was released today in a multiplex in Mumbai in the presence of Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor, director Sharan Sharma and others. As is evident from the trailer and cricket theme, the film is an homage of sorts to Mahendra Singh Dhoni. At the song launch, Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor spoke about the cricket legend and a lot more.

Rajkummar Rao began by saying, “Not just us, the whole world is a fan of him. Hum Mahi sir ko bahut pyaar karte hai.” Janhvi added, “He has done so much for our nation and the game of cricket. We love him not just because he’s a fine cricketer but also for his temperament, values and the kind of person he is.”
Janhvi Kapoor continued, “In an interview, he said that it’s all about the process and not the end result. If you follow the process with honesty, you’ll get the result. Even if you don’t, it won’t matter. This film is based on this one line said by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. I hope we do justice to his philosophy.”
When asked if they’d like to show Mr & Mrs Mahi to Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Janhvi replied, “We’d love to show him and his wife the film. But he’s very busy I guess.” Rajkummar pitched in, “But we’ll try our very best.”
The actors were then asked about the qualities of Mahendra Singh Dhoni that they appreciated the most. Rajkummar answered, “We get to see the true sportsman spirit in him. The way he deals with any situation is commendable. He’s humble, kind-hearted and that can be seen in his aura.”
Janhvi Kapoor revealed, “Recently, I met him at a function. Woh aam insaan lag hi nahin rahe the. Woh chal nahin rahe the. Woh glide kar rahe the! Many people asked him for pictures. He just didn’t click a selfie with fans and walked ahead. He also talked to them, that too with utmost respect. He’s such a big personality and yet, this was his behaviour.”
Mr & Mrs Mahi releases in cinemas on May 31.
